| Jason | 99 | 119 | -3 | 116 | 1.17 | - Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - Thought this was a good song pick. One of my favorite Sofia memories ever was when she received Pooh for her 2nd birthday and was starstruck because she thought he was real and this song always reminds me of that time.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - Got the downvote only because we have to pick one and I personally would have picked another song from this album for this round (Man on the Moon).
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - I would have given this song 2 points if you picked the shorter version. Inspired choice tho!
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - I was about to pick a Capital Cities song too!
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - How this song relates to the theme, I don’t know, but *someone* must have known I love this song and will give it points.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - On regular rotation on my personal playlist so had to give this two points even though I think I know who submitted this song…
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - I thought about picking this song myself. Forgot that Incubus had so many hits!
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - This song is my catnip and on point with the theme. Gets my two points for the round.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - Ice Cube has a very different idea of a “chill” day than me. There were other songs that fit the theme better, but in college my playlist was all alt rock songs and this song so it gets a point.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - I actually thought about selecting this song for the chill vibe, and now I regret that I didn’t. My loss, your gain.
- "Sacramen-toJam - Disk 2, hidden tracks - Halloween" / Tricks and Treats - New to me, but sounds good and fits the theme!
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - I could be nit-picky about whether this song met the theme, but I’m feeling generous and this is a good song.
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - I could be nit-picky about whether this song met the theme, but this song is new to me and is rad.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - Exactly what you expect from a guitar dog and thanks for not picking an obvious choice.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - I like acoustic guitar in songs best, and this song is one of the greatest examples.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - Always forget about this ode to CA, but it’s a good one.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - This is my kind of jam and the type of music I would normally listen to. Thanks for introducing me to this song!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - I probably should have went with this song in the soundtrack instead of the one I picked!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - This song gets played a lot in our house but I have to admit I haven’t watched the movie straight through. 🙈
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Mike?
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Jason? I think even Mandy Moore is embarrassed by this song, but I want (to listen to) the Candy!
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - I’ve listened to this song so many times, but never really thought about or listened the lyrics closely. I thought the lines were “where you go where the mice are found” and “will she stand alone?” Sounds like the song is about being suspicious of a cheating partner. He’s expecting their pet dogs to confirm his suspicions and maybe finally find the courage to leave.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - A troubled mind imagining that he will someday have the power to punish all who have trespassed against him and the fallout that would result.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Let's go to the movies! - The only time I’ve fallen asleep watching a movie in theaters, probably in part of the soundtrack and God’s voice being so soothing.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Jason? One of my favorite cardigans songs and good cover. However, I suspect this will be overlooked because people don’t know the original song.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Jason? Just a good cover and a fun listen.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - There was an episode of Gilmore Girls where Lorelei and Rory build Bjork for a snowman contest. So I love this as a pick!
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - I am a Shazamer of music I hear at hotels and restaurants and I would definitely Shazam this song.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Beach Mismatch. Are your choices Kenenough! (Barbie) - Emo Ken?
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - When listening to this, I thought “yes this would actually make a good country song!” I did not know this was a cover of a country song, since this is the only version I know.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Helen? I submitted this song as a pick, but changed it later. Too bad for me because this is a very iconic tv theme song!
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Jason? I used to sneak watching this show as a kid. I will forever associate this song with Al Bundy tucking his hand down his waistband.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Words don't matter - I just found my new favorite Italian song. I’m not even mad that it’s better than my Italian pick.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - I have to admit Metallica has the best concert openings with this song. Even casual fans like myself get pumped up every time!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - I see potential with this character…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - I see we had similar ideas and I think this can lead to interesting song picks for the next rounds. Nice detail of picking a 1980s song from a British band.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - I’ve listened to some of NIN’s instrumentals from their Ghosts albums recently and I like their sound (only really knew about Closer and Hurt before). Appreciate the outside-of-the-box song pick!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bondage and Duty (the Queen's Tale) - Did not know Frankie was from England. This was a fun pick!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - Good song and good plot twist!
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite original song from an animated movie - Such a good soundtrack!
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Can’t listen to this song without thinking of this movie
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song from a non-animated movie musical - Almost unfair to pick a song by Bowie, but this rocks! The 80s sound and quirkiness just works. First time hearing this and it’s love on first listen for me.
- Change of Pace / Horn-y - Unpopular opinion, but Kenny G is like a third wheel that unnecessarily interrupts the sweet duet of Babyface and Mariah.
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - Yep, glad to see Sting make the list!
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - I think this song will give the two wedding songs a run for their money
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - This is the most creative promposal
- Hey DJ! / $@#?! - My favorite Prince song
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - I was so close to picking this. This is my forever summer jam.
- Beginnings / Original - I picked this originally but changed my mind.🤦🏻♀️ In retrospect, a big mistake since both songs are so good.
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - Point for not picking the Police song. I also had a couple of "murder for love" song ideas...
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - Deserving of points
- The Singularity / Man vs Machine - This is the ultimate pump-me-up song. I recently learned the Van Halen brothers were born in Amsterdam and their mother is Indonesia. Their family immigrated to Pasadena, California, which is known as “Van Halen Country.”
- The Singularity / Man vs Machine - Finally paid attention to the lyrics while listening to the song. Can’t believe I thought it was about Panama the country 🤦🏻♀️
- The Singularity / Embiggened Language Model - Not normally a genre I’d listen to, but I thought this was a clever pick for the prompt
- The Singularity / John Henry - The first Whitney Houston song I heard that made me a fan
- The Singularity / John Henry - Very beautiful
- The Singularity / This is Fine - You would be in Pod #0000000000000001
- The Singularity / This is Fine - There are 1300 monthly listeners out there. You are not alone in your quirkiness.
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - I did a trivia game recently where I was one of the few people who knew that Danny Elfman composed the theme song to the Simpsons tv show. So I guess it’s plausible to have forgotten about him.
- New beginnings / Instrumental - This is really beautiful; the melodic, textural rock that I love from Metallica. Over 8 minutes long and I didn’t miss lyrics at all.

| Zach | 100 | 91 | -6 | 85 | 0.85 | - Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - The Brits have a great sense of humor and this song is a fine example. Good song choice for thinking outside the box.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - I was obsessed with this song in high school and kicking myself for not picking this song for this round!
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - Like this song, but what is the relevant instruments used?
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - Never heard this song before, but this duo makes sense
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - Not sure how this song fits the theme, but definitely my kind of jam so it gets points.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - Inspired choice! I think this song will get the top votes
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Inspired choice! I didn’t really remember this song so this was a fun listen down memory lane!
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Glad to see another person thinking along the same lines as me for this round. Hope Ye gets his money right so his new wife can get some clothes.
- Sacramen-toeJam / I Want It All - Unfortunately I haven’t seen Hamilton so this was giving me Bridgerton season 2 vibes, which threw me off the theme. Was Alexander Hamilton a capital R rake?
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - Flashback to the 90s. I remember liking this song back then, but I don’t want to try to explain how this fits the theme…
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - I like this song. But Dido seems unsettled and restless until her lover is back, rather than relaxed or chill.
- Sacramen-toeJam / I Want to Love You - I wish I could have given this song more points because it was a great choice. I always thought this song perfectly encapsulates the emotions of being completely infatuated and in love without saying the expressed words.
- "Sacramen-toJam - Disk 2, hidden tracks - Halloween" / Tricks and Treats - I should have used this for the “Greed” round in last league.
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - IYKYK
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - Not one of their hits, but still a good song
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - A Santana song is a great pick for this round, but while listening I kept expecting the song he did with Rob Thomas and was disappointed when it wasn’t.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - A personal favorite of mine, but the other riffs in this round had the edge (interestingly, not The Edge tho!)
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - I love a well curated Instagram full of life, love, and laughter.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - Clever pick!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - I can get behind this song.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - Because it’s Christmas and I don’t want to be a Scrooge, I’ll give a point to Kermit.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Zach? Tell me you’re in your 40s without telling me you’re in your 40s.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Yorick? Very sappy listening intended only to occur in 2024 in the privacy of your AirPods.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - Ran out of points to give, but I think this song makes more sense if you replace “chocolate” with “cannabis.” Also, Spotify had this “Storyline” feature under the lyrics that explained the premise of the song. Spoiler alert!
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Zach? I also looked into covers for this song, but the only ones I liked were piano ones (Tiffany was one I think). This cover was a little all over the place.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Zach? Not better than the original, but I’d listen to this again.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - This reminds me that the Police has a French song called “Hungry For You.” A little too preachy and not upbeat enough for me.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - New band to me, but they definitely got the Phoenix vibe that I like!
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Beach Mismatch. Are your choices Kenenough! (Barbie) - Would have been my pick if I didn’t go with the 3eb song. Definitely a good song for beach playlist, despite the murderous theme.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - I thought about picking the “Highwayman” by the super group Highwaymen, but I did not know about this version. Great pick!
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - This league needs more Elvis songs.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Emma?
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Mike?
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Words don't matter - What a beautiful song. I wouldn’t have discovered this song on my own so thanks for sharing this.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - Yaassss!
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - Lyrically more interesting than “Levels,” which I considered picking, but I don’t know how to dance to this lol
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - Great song, out of points.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - Yep, this was part of the childhood playlist too. Out of points!
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - This song has the shoegaze guitar reverb effect that I like, but I think this song sounds better with the lyrics.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Play Submission (Setting) - I don’t want to give this downvote so I’m very sorry!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - Joining the ranks of musical badass nuns Sister “Favorite Things” Maria and whoever Whoopi played in Sister Act.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - Thank you for this inspiring pick…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Like the story! Appreciate the pick of a British artist.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - Liked this comment a lot!
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Who was that again? - I like this unexpected pick!
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Where was that again? - Point for picking a lesser-known song, altho I don’t remember that being the original lyrics to Let’s Get It Started. 😮
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Smaller is Better - This is my kind of jam
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite movie title song/theme song - Unexpected choice, but I like Chris Cornell
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Never seen this movie so I looked up this scene on YouTube. Definitely….intense. Can’t think of “Mr. Darcy” the same again.
- Change of Pace / Not Horny Enough - Yep, this one’s the winner
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - I picked this song first, but regret changing it now. But glad I can still tell the story of how Jason’s mom went to a Tina Turner concert the night before he was born. He was overdue, but all that shaking and rocking music must have lured him out. Jason can recognize The Best!
- Hey DJ! / Guilty Pleasures - As an old millennial, Gwen Stefani will always hold a special place in my heart and I will never feel guilty admitting I love her music!
- Hey DJ! / Tongue Twists - This sounds good but I think it’s because it’s basically Juvenile’s Back That Azz Up, which I didn’t understand most the lyrics of either
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - This might be crazy, but you like dance pop and I like dance pop. I like stars and you like stars, let’s go to prom together?
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - I don’t get who the target audience is for this song.
- Beginnings / Debut - I feel bad for giving this the downvote but I’m glad The Cure kept making more albums because they had more give
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - Cute song that I liked on first listen but just ran out of points
- Beginnings / Original - I knew The Verve got sued for their song, but did not realize it was based on a misuse of this sample. Interesting!
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - This fit the vibe!
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - Glad to come across another Metric fan!! I thought about using a Metric song for this round too, but couldn’t think how to make it work. You make it so straightforward!
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - I like this interpretation of the prompt and it seems like a fun band
- The Singularity / Embiggened Language Model - Didn’t know he was a teacher—makes Don’t Stand So Close to Me even creepier…
- The Singularity / Embiggened Language Model - I liked this band a lot, don’t really remember this song. Point for interesting choice for prompt
- The Singularity / John Henry - Been waiting for Khruangbin to make an appearance!
- The Singularity / This is Fine - If this is the future with our AI overlords, sign me up!
- The Singularity / This is Fine - While you’re busy making funnies, AI is taking away your job and self autonomy.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - The Chet Baker version is the standard for me and it’s hard to beat. Maybe if I gave this a couple of listens
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - Smart pick
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - It’s sample from Girl From Ipanema that really carries this song
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - You were a cultured child. Much more sophisticated than my initial pick of “What Does the Fox Say”
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I was thinking a classic oldie would be a good pick for this round as well.
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - Wow, this unlocked a core memory for me. My college roommate loved Hikaru Utada and got me hooked on a couple of her songs. BRB, I’ve got to listen to “Automatic” now!
|
| Yorick | 93 | 81 | -6 | 75 | 0.81 | - Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - Was not sure what to think of this song the first time I heard it and then it really grew on me after listening to it a few times and hearing the intricacies.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - I never paid much attention to the lyrics, but they are great and I thought this was an excellent pick.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - Oddly, it was the “fuck collecting stamps” line that offended me the most (philatelist in the house🙌). Thanks for introducing a new artist tho; that’s what I like best about this game.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - Thanks for introducing me to BLACKPINK. Been meaning to check them out
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - New artist to me, thanks for sharing! Checked out her song “Went for a While” and it’s nice
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - I was into gangsta rap/hip hop when I was too young to even know what smokin indo or sipping on gin & juice meant, so I got to give this song a point.
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - New to me and fits the theme, but I’ll stick with the Queen classics.
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Surprisingly catchy and one I would listen to again next time I sword play.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - Don’t really like this song, but this was the first song that popped into my mind when I came up with the theme of this round.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - New to me!
- Sacramen-toeJam / I Want to Love You - This song was creepier than a song called Creep. Really couldn’t get into this one with so much violence against women in this world.
- Sacramen-toeJam / I Want to Love You - I get more self-loathing vibes from this song, but it’s a classic so I’ll give a point.
- "Sacramen-toJam - Disk 2, hidden tracks - Halloween" / Tricks and Treats - Terribly catchy
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - I’m a big fan of soundtrack instrumentals and will have to check out this show now.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - Wow this is wild! I see one of their songs was featured as a final gig in Guitar Hero III. I played quite a bit of GH but I never got good enough to this level and they just be amazing live.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - This riff is so well known, but I must admit I didn’t know the song/artist until I heard Child In Time when we first played this game and looked Deep Purple up. Gave my points to the other “classic” songs. Deep Purple deserves more attention tho!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - I think Pop ultimately ripped the heart of the metal into a million “shreds.” At least in this round.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - I agree this level of obsession can only mean love, but orange you glad I didn’t give you a downvote?
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - I’m in the camp that this song is cringey. I looked for “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” on this soundtrack and was sad it wasn’t on it, because that would have been the winning song for this theme for me!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - I haven’t seen Die Hard so I can’t judge if it’s a Christmas movie or not! 🙈
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Emily? I fell asleep during the first half of Wicked and was jolted awake by this song. But I thought it was considered the best song and musicals are well liked?
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Yorick? This is catchy. What is embarrassing about it?
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - I have to give this song a point even if it’s a recent repeat pick, but I have no clue what this song is on about except teen angst.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - He feels like a minor character in the story of his life.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Let's go to the movies! - A song fitting of senior ditch day
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Emma? I don’t know what to think about this one. I’m genuinely stumped.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Hellen? I’d listen to this again.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - Who knew Michel had daddy issues? Catchy song that sounds more upbeat than its translated lyrics convey.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - I have thought about using this song for several rounds of the leagues we’ve had (not this round tho). You’ve beat me to it.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - I don’t think I’ve heard this song, but this is great. I could see Beyoncé changing up some lyrics and owning this song.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Yorick? A clever pick that skirts the theme; did not know this was partly inspired from a Delibes (famed for Flower Duet) composition.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Yorick? Giving a point because I learned that even though this was composed for the show by Mike Post (who composed, among other themes, the iconic ones for Law and Order shows), he borrowed from a Cream song.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - This is a repeat pick from a prior league, but this would be on my dance mix for sure!
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - Another nice find!
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - This reminds me of Explosions in the Sky.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - I liked this song quite a bit (reminded me of Alanis Morissette or Melissa Etheridge) and I like a strong female character, but the jester of Tortuga drew me in.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - I like that this song gives a lot of options of how this story could go.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Good story and song that fits.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bondage and Duty (the Queen's Tale) - I was obsessed with the Imogen Heap song. There should be an SNL skit on this…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - Lyrics on point!
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite original song from an animated movie - Love that you thought outside the box!
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Got me with the Keanu pick
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song from a non-animated movie musical - Musicals aren’t typically my jam, but this song is good
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song used in a romantic moment in a movie - Unexpected pick but very nice!
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite background score to a dramatic moment - I’m not a crier normally, but that scene with this song instantly makes me 😭😭😭
- Change of Pace / Horn-y - I would have given two points for “Hold On, I’m Comin’” but this was a good pick!
- Hey DJ! / Tongue Twists - I liked some CC songs back in the day but this is a new one to me. Nice!
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - I like this, but I ran out of points. It’s bothering me that I can’t remember where I heard this song!
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - After a couple of listens, this isn’t so bad…
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - To me, this is isn’t that bizarre because this is the type of music I listen to in my regular life. But here’s a point for introducing me to a new song in genre I like!! This inspires me to share something new too.
- Into the Void / Spiral Architect - Reminds me of Deftones and Incubus. It did grow on me after a couple of listens.
- The Singularity / Man vs Machine - Can’t believe the songs are by the same artist!!
- The Singularity / This is Fine - Worst sleep ever
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - I enjoyed this
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - The danger of hearing a song from a band for the first time is that now I’ll always think of them as a sarcastic Nickelback 🥴
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - What does he have against philatelists? They are a fucking joy! Fuck everything else though
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - Unexpected pick for a kid’s song, but I get it
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - It’s not bad, but hard to compare to MJ’s hits
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - Nice, there were a couple of hits from that album. My personal favorite is Body Movin'
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I would have picked this one if I hadn't already done in another league. But excellent choice!
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - Giving a point because it reminds me of the techno songs I used to listen to too
|
| Michael Sugar | 83 | 70 | -3 | 67 | 0.81 | - Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - I like this version more than the original. Saw them on tour in 2019 for this album and this song was definitely a crowd favorite.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - Almost picked this song myself. You know how a certain smell or perfume can immediately evoke a very specific memory or emotion? I have the same reaction anytime I hear this song’s intro.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - I feel like it’s not really a Fleetwood Mac song without Stevie singing 😅
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - I wouldn’t mind this song beating out my song choices because this was a brilliant selection.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - Another inspired choice and I can also see this getting major points
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - I might have to add Dogstar back to my regular playlist. I liked their song “Cornerstone” a lot in college. This appears to be a new song from their upcoming album, so thanks for alerting me!
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Still need to see this movie! Ken is still a ten in my book even tho he should quit singing and stick to tanning.
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Didn’t think anyone would choose this song since I made it the title of this round, but this was the first song that came to my mind. 🤷🏻♀️
- Sacramen-toeJam / I Want It All - Interesting choice that was on theme, but I probably would have enjoyed this more if I had seen the musical.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - Point for the local reference! Lots of wineries there now so being stuck there isn’t so bad.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - This is one of the top results that come up when you Google “songs about being lazy” but I just liked other songs fitting the theme better.
- "Sacramen-toJam - Disk 2, hidden tracks - Halloween" / Tricks and Treats - I probably would have given this a point if I had watched 30 Rock
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - The word dream only appears once in this song, but used in such a powerful lyric. Well played.
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / It takes two - I prejudged this song seeing it was from a Will Ferrell movie, but I was pleasantly surprised.
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - I would have given a point but this seems more like a snippet than a song
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - I like this version of the song
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - The intro riff always give me a jolt of adrenaline. Classic for a reason!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - David Bowie stole the points from this song. I cannot deny that the riff in this song is iconic, but I prefer Come As You Are.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - I sometimes wonder if non-Californians like songs about California. But I know I like at least one song about Alabama!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - Nice out of the box pick!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Emma? I get it; I don’t like crying in public either.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Mike? I can’t believe anyone would willingly listen to this song.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - About how money shouldn’t be the most important thing in life.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - He’s exhilarated by his successful cocaine business, but he has a lot of haters coming after him although he isn’t afraid. He’s still living in his old neighborhood and no one understands why because he could live somewhere much nicer.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Yorick? I was excited to see a Tori Amos song, but I think her style doesn’t quite match the intensity required to do this song justice.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Mike? 100% agree this song is an incredible cover but I decided to give two points to Sinead, the other “obvious pick” song.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - I have to admit this is a damn good pop song
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - Well-played, Mike! I would have picked this song too for the challenge.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Beach Mismatch. Are your choices Kenenough! (Barbie) - I liked the other murder-themed song better.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - Great song from the genre.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Zach? Gave the point to Superhero
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Mike? The only Entourage episodes I’ve ever seen were when we visited you in Boston. And we met Emily for the first time on that trip :)
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - This was the first song played at a wedding I attended last month and nearly everyone stampeded to the dance floor. The DJ said she’s never seen that happen.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - Classic. Guessing Jason picked this for Rick.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - Recognized the tune, but did not know the song! Liked this too, but ran out of points.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - I’m a sucker for a good main theme for a movie.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - Ugh for making me vote for this song, but did not see this character coming and now I want to see more…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Appreciate the brevity and humor. I think it would have been fun to pick songs for a comedy.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - Brilliant choice
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song from a non-animated movie musical - Christian Bale movies are showing up a surprising amount of times in this league.
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song used in a romantic moment in a movie - Love this scene! Would have picked this song too if I hadn’t used it already in a prior game of Music League.
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite background score to a dramatic moment - RIP Gene Hackman
- Change of Pace / Good Riddance but also I Need You Back - Quirky pick, but I like it. I want to know how you discovered this song!
- Change of Pace / Not Horny Enough - Was this used in cue cards scene in Love Actually?
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - I feel my (old) age when I listen to this song, but I appreciate the pick of a new song
- Hey DJ! / Guilty Pleasures - I recently watched a couple episodes of this show and now I’m curious of how this song shows up. Guess I’ll have to keep watching.
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - Sparkly jumpsuit is a must
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - I heard this for the first time while on the way to Stonehenge. My friend was horrified that several of us did not know the movie and showed us the YouTube clip to release us from our chains of ignorance. But I agree tis’ a magical place (put there by aliens)!
- Into the Void / Wishing Well - I thought this was a great pick. The pure vocals really gave the effect of throwing a coin into the dark.
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - Seems like another cautionary tale
- The Singularity / Man vs Machine - I don’t think I’ve ever listened to this song or maybe I didn’t realize it was this song when I did. I enjoyed it, but I think I would have liked it more if he didn’t have the vocal effect because he has a beautiful voice.
- The Singularity / Embiggened Language Model - My dad listened to this song a lot when I was a kid. Not sure why, but I never questioned the meaning of the phrase American pie.
- The Singularity / John Henry - This was the first song that I rushed to submit because I thought it was a sure winner, but changed it for my two “themed” picks. No regrets tho!
- The Singularity / This is Fine - I’mma let you finish but actually I think this move by Kanye (or Ye Ye his current name?) is the peak of modern civilization https://blogs.mtdv.me/watch?v=KanyeWeststealsavril14th
- The Singularity / Irreplaceable - Ahh, someone else knows about Gosling’s secret band! The choir part and clapping would be hard to replicate.
- Music Through the Decades / The 2000s: Guilty Pleasure or Secret Genius? - Damn, take my two points
- New beginnings / This isn't me - Thanks for reminding me of this gem. So many good R&B songs, give them a listen!
- New beginnings / Instrumental - Love surf rock! Definitely would be on my road trip playlists as well!

| Emily Neubauer Sugar | 63 | 55 | -3 | 52 | 0.83 | - Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - I was hoping (psychically knew) someone would pick this song and you did not disappoint! 🙌
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Immediately adding to my playlist even tho I’m two decades too old for this song.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - Gets the downvote because Kokomo does not exist, except maybe as a tourist trap in Florida that serves $20 drinks made with Bacardi rum. Doesn’t matter; we know this song is getting all the points in this round.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - Point for public sex
- "Sacramen-toJam - Disk 2, hidden tracks - Halloween" / Tricks and Treats - Got to give a point to Buffy and Spike!
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - Wished this song was used for the next round!
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - You beat me to this song
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - If I have to pick between two GNR songs, this one is my favorite even though both are great. Slash’s third solo at around 6:50 with the choir is just epic.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - I became familiar with the Nirvana version of this song first and listened to it endlessly for the riff. This David Bowie version is great too of course (Sparkle Princess probably approves tho), but I would have given the Nirvana version 3 points.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - Thought this was a clever pick!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - Sweet Home Alabama edged out this song for my final point.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - Finally watched this movie recently. I have always had an irrational dislike for Tom Hanks and this movie only proved I was correct all along. But we also rode the “Polar Express” in Old Sacramento last week and the “chefs” gave us hot chocolate while dancing to this song. It was nice, thus saving you from the downvote.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - Love the line about Joey Ramone and rhyming “Hebrew school” with Paula Abdul.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Emily? Additive tune of catchy and crazy Taylor.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Zach? I just went thrift shopping yesterday but didn’t find anything f*cking awesome. Now I want to know where Macklemore goes.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - Always liked this song. But it seems clear that it’s about leaving a bar at closing time and hoping to go home with a certain someone.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - Jason once uttered urgently in his sleep, “Vanilla eyesight anybody anywhere, anywhere, anywhere…” and that made more sense to me than this song.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Mike? It’s a decent cover, but unfortunately it’s overshadowed by the Jeff Buckley one.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Emily? Needs more midriff for this to be pulled off!
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - This pick is intriguing. It doesn’t strike me as an obvious choice for a good country cover, but it makes me curious if it could be. But if Beyoncé could incorporate “Good Vibrations” into a country song, she can do anything.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - See my comment for the other Jewel song. “Who Will Save Your Soul” is what got me listening to Jewel, but this song is what made me love her music, so I’ll give a point here.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Zach? I thought about using this song. Not sure I have ever watched an entire episode of Cops, but I always knew it was on once I heard the theme song.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Jason? Ugh Tom Hanks
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - This would be a good song to listen to while enjoying a whiskey on the rocks on a Sunday evening. Alas, out of points to give!
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - I also considered picking this song, but couldn’t figure out which version to use. The piano version is classic, but I slightly prefer the symphony version probably because of Ocean’s 11 😆
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - I’m intrigued…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Nice pick! Could imagine this story as the heroine having to choose between a “West End boy” or “Scientist.”
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bondage and Duty (the Queen's Tale) - Probably my favorite song on the playlist
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - Giving this a point since I think you were also envisioning a second season in Vegas.
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Best of 2024 - Apple Replay says Taylor Swift was my top streaming artist this year with 1,038 minutes. Most of that was Sofia, but I’ll admit that my Fortnight listens bumped Taylor to the top.
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - Glad to see Madonna make it on this list
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - Love this song too! Wish you had provided a comment!
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - Not hating it…
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - Yep, totally thought of this one too!
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - Deserving of points, but I figure you’ll already get a lot of upvotes!
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - I miss fun Katy

| Taylor Kayatta | 49 | 50 | -2 | 48 | 0.98 | - SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - I came across this song last year for the first time when we were doing Emma’s music league with food songs. Happy it appeared in a league.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Play Submission (Setting) - The point was either to this song or Billie Jean. But I really want to know what happened next…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - Don’t tell Sir Elton, but I’ve always liked this version better. And everyone wants a nice guy to root for.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - This song is amazing and I liked that it played after BLT on the playlist. This could work into an interesting tale…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - I’m a sucker for Jack Johnson songs. Sometime The Scientist has to take a leap of faith and believe in something unquantifiable.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - Love this song, but outta points
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Who was that again? - As a millennial who grew up on 90’s alternative rock, it pains me to see The Wallflowers called a one hit wonder!
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Smaller is Better - Our wedding singer! Although it took me a minute to remember
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite movie title song/theme song - Haha, I love this story
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Love this song pick! It reminds me of soundtracks by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (of Nine Inch Nails).
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - This sounded a bit like a Taylor Swift song, but I liked it
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - 1 pt for good song choice and 2 pts because #itsbritneybitch
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - I hate this cover so much too. Would have picked this one if I didn’t pick my song.
- Beginnings / Debut - I didn’t become a fan until Tragic Kingdom but I remember liking “Sinking” and “Sad For Me” from this album a lot.
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - Not the best version of California Dreamin’ but I understood the sentiment behind this pick.
- Beginnings / Original - To add another layer, listen to Seville by Luiz Bonfa.
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - I like bad girl Taylor! "I Did Something Bad" probably would have been my pick!
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - Love the Cardigans! Such a unique sound. I would have picked their cover of Black Sabbath’s Iron Man from this album, but I had already used it in another league. Worth checking out…very different interpretation!
- Into the Void / Spiral Architect - I recently re-listened to a bunch of my favorite Garbage songs because they are touring. I just love Shirley Manson’s voice, so emotive. Great pick for this round.
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - This song holds a special place in my heart because I could hit the “woo ooh ooh” part perfectly in Guitar Hero 5 (video game from 15 years ago!!??) and score 100% on the vocals. I sang while listening to this playlist and my cat ran out the room. Maybe a bit rusty.
- Into the Void / Wishing Well - Happened to rewatch this movie this past weekend. The pressures that Abuela put on Mirabel were pretty messed up.
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - Got to vote for No Doubt
- The Singularity / This is Fine - I could fall asleep to this
- Music Through the Decades / Time Traveler's Choice - The song “Giorgio by Moroder” by Daft Punk explains it all! He put the click on the 24 track and synced it to a Moog synthesizer and it was the sound of the future!
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - This is a good pick…we liked Better Place a lot too.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - When I changed one of my songs for this round, I got the alert that someone else also picked a song from this album. Normally I would have switched my pick to avoid a showdown, but honestly the songs are good. I watched the movie with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe the kids are alright.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I like this energy
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I see someone else understood the assignment!
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - I saw Robyn had a new album. Thanks for this pick!
- New beginnings / Instrumental - I like it when artists put out instrumental versions of their songs because it’s like a new spin on an old favorite. It looks like is an original instrumental song, but I would have liked it more with lyrics.

| Happy Lucky | 58 | 50 | -4 | 46 | 0.79 | - Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - My first exposure to “grownup” music was the Carpenters from listening to my dad’s old cassette tapes around the age of 7 or 8. So I strongly associate Karen Carpenter’s voice with my childhood.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Back in time - Got to give a point to this song since it’s a classic and I’m visiting Beatles land!
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - Classic
- Sacramen-toeJam / Horn-y - Forgot how catchy this song was
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - A classic song but I ran out of points
- Sacramen-toeJam / Next! - I hate to downvote this song because it fits the theme better than some of the others on this list, but I think other songs from the 80s held up better.
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Did you want to start the Dwayne Johnson appreciation thread or should I? 😘
- Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Did not see this one coming…still confused on everything about this song, although the melody is growing on me. Age is softening me or my hearing is going.
- Sacramen-toeJam / I Want It All - I first thought this was Madonna.
- Sacramen-toeJam / I Want It All - New song to me, but thought it was great and fit the theme.
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - I remember this song on the radio, but never really listened to it. Point for the unexpected interpretation of the theme!
- Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - I could listen to this while sipping an overpriced margarita at the Kokomo bar.
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - I like the way you think
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - This is a song I would have picked for this round had I known it existed ❤️
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - I probably would pass up cookies and peaches for a pina colada, but I’m not sure that qualifies as food 😅
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - The guitar skills are undeniably good in this song, but faced stiff competition from the other well known “classics” in the round.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - This was an obvious pick for the round, but I felt like Joan Jett was shafted in an earlier round, so she gets a point. Plus this is a great song.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - I thought about submitting this too because it actually is my favorite song in a holiday movie (and in general!), but went with a Christmas song instead. I’ll give the point though!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - Ran out of points to give! But this is a great song too 🥹
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Emma? I like this song and would listen to it guilt free!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Hellen?
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - One of my guilty pleasure songs
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - I always heard it as “dancers” not “dancer,” and now that grammatical detail has thrown me. But I thought the song was about space robots landing on earth and dancing at a club, wondering if that made them human (is this the essence of the human experience?) or just dancing bots.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Let's go to the movies! - This song just isn’t the same now knowing that even if Jack survived, he would have dumped Rose the moment she turned 25.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Yorick? This grew on me after a couple of listens
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Emma. Well played! We tried to stump you but then you went and found a song that will probably outscore my picks haha!
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - This is my guess for the Mike bait song! I watched a couple episodes, but couldn’t get into it. I like this song though, but I gave the Parcel song two points.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - Love that Jewel appeared twice on this playlist. Can’t believe the 30th anniversary of this album is coming up. This is a favorite song of mine from the album, but personally the interesting pick for a cover would have been “Who Will Save Your Soul” for the social commentary that is still applicable today.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - Another good pick from the country genre.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Emily?
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Emily? This was the song I was expecting for this round and you did not disappoint. The show that gave us the best crying face gif.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - My parents listened to this, but I never knew it by name or artist. #underarocksince1988
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - This is really beautiful.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - Very impressive, but I don’t feel compelled to listen to it again.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - I was intrigued by this song/character but just ran out of points. But I hope the time travel aspect comes back…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Thoughtful song pick!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - What about throwing in some werewolves too?
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - I enjoyed this one
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - I liked this song too
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - I’d be okay with my daughter listening to this song
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - She does have good taste! Mine likes “Mystical Magical” 😅
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I was in a book club years ago with men and women and we read the first book of this series. The men were traumatized. Anyway, good song and I'm interested in watching the TV series now.
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - I enjoyed this. Love a good choir song.
- New beginnings / Instrumental - I have a playlist titled “Sehnsucht,” that I
listen to when the mood strikes me and this song would fit right in. Sehnsucht is a German word; I’m not sure it translates directly to a word in English, but I think it means a melancholic yearning or longing for something that is unattainable or uncertain. You might also enjoy “Saudade” by Thievery Corporation, in my Sehnsucht playlist.

| Anthony Ng | 30 | 31 | 0 | 31 | 1.03 | |
| Helen | 40 | 29 | -6 | 23 | 0.57 | - SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - I don’t recognize this artist or song, but it’s been driving me crazy these past few days trying to think of where I have heard this song before in the past…
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - I just like the original song more
- SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / It takes two - Out of all the songs, this one didn’t seem like an obvious love song to me. The lyrics suggest two people having a similar self-reflections about the dangers of fame/success? I haven’t seen any versions of A Star is Born.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Back to Basics: School of Rock 101 - Deserving of points, but gave out all my points to other “classics” in the round.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - I just don’t get the love for cars.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / I Love You, Man? - This is sweet.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - I love hearing this song 734 times during the holidays. And that Wham song. Yep, just admitted that and not ashamed at all!!
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / But Wait—There’s Myrrh - I didn’t realize I knew that many versions of this song that I would have a preference, but I prefer the version by Thurl Ravenscoft (what a great name and also the voice of Kellogg’s Tony the Tiger), followed by the Tyler the Creator version. But maybe I’m just being a Grinch 😝
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Jason? Ticks both boxes of pleasure and guilt.
- SacramentoJam Volume 4 -Alicorn Stardust / Guilty Pleasures - Hellen? I think this was picked because it is a sad song, but I had to translate the lyrics to know.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - I think this is a song commenting on the strange practices of some religious cult. But not any stranger than fans at a Crash Test Dummies concert jumping up and down shouting “play the Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm song! play the Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm song!”
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Say what now? - I’m a big fan of 1990s club songs (despite being nowhere near a club then) and I’m surprised I’ve never heard this one before. The lyric that is a mind twist for me is when he explains the meaning of scat as “While you're still sleepin', the saints are still weepin' 'cause/
Things you call dead haven't yet had the chance to be born.”
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Hellen? Classic for a reason. I almost picked a Lauren Hill song too.
- SacramentoJam Volume 5 - Mr. Wiffles' Catnip Jams / Cover me! - Emily? After listening to a lot of cover songs, I appreciate how hard it is to cover a song (a Prince one too!) and beautifully make it your own. So while this might have been an expected choice, I had to give Sinead 2 points. RIP
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Sacré Bleu! A day in the life of Michel(Gilmore Girls) - I would have given two points for “Get Lucky,” with French band Daft Punk, but this song does make me happy!
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - I’m not sure even Beyoncé could make this cool.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Country Cover (Beyonce) - Fun song, but ran out of points.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Helen? Probably the most well known theme song, but I think it was written for the show.
- SacramentoJam Vol 6 - Whoa / Bachelor Nanny TV (Soldier of illusion, Documentary Now) - Emma? Song is clever, but written for the show and I like the Friends song more.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - Listened to so much Elvis as a kid.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - I remembered listening to the Bee Gees too as a kid, but their more melancholy songs. I was quite surprised as an adult to hear their dance hits and learn it was the same band.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - Was not expecting to like this one, but I did!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - Any West End story needs its titular West End girl.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Maybe the time loops were happening for a reason!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bondage and Duty (the Queen's Tale) - Thought this was a good pick, playing on the theme of whether she can break from her past.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - I like the full circle of using another Queen song and the lyrics work!

- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - I remember reading a review about the 2018 remake of this movie, but never seen either. Judging by this song, the movie is probably amazingly scary. Great pick!
- Change of Pace / Old Enough! はじめてのおつかい - She had some other good songs as her career matured, maybe not as big of a hit as this song tho
- Change of Pace / Horn-y - I used up all my George Michael points last round
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - Bold choice to make a song that’s already famous for the same word/title! But I liked one of the other songs better
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - Thanks for putting Jane’s Addiction on my radar again!
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - I’ll take a chance on you everyday 😉
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - Team Taylor!!
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - Pretty good! Thanks for introducing us
- Beginnings / Original - Like this song, but an extra layer of creepiness after hearing some of the testimony from the Diddy trial
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - I watched this movie in the theaters! Probably the first villain song I liked!
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - I have a friend who plays Music League like it’s a full time job. At any given time she’s playing in over 25 leagues, where each player tries to find the most obscure Nigerian psychedelic rock song from 1974. Crate digging is their life. Anyway, just for fun, I asked her what she’d pick for this round. This was the song. So when this playlist came out, I was stunned. You could have knocked me over with a potted philodendron.
- Into the Void / Wishing Well - Been wanting to use a Temple of the Dog song for a round. This was a good pick
- Music Through the Decades / The 1990s: The Basement Tapes - A definitive 90s band for me

| amfish123 | 20 | 17 | -2 | 15 | 0.75 | - Movie Music Magic / Favorite original song from an animated movie - I’ve never seen this movie and I should remedy that.
- Change of Pace / Horn-y - Yep, yep
- Change of Pace / Not Horny Enough - I thought about using horny rocket man (“Burning out his fuse up here alone”)
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - If going by memory, I would have sworn there is a dramatic pause. But listening to it, there really isn’t any pause and it “speeds up” midway?
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - Love this idea
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - I saw Weezer on the tour for this album and when they performed this song, the crowd went wild and it was electric. I think that experience pushes the cover ahead of the original for me (ducks head). Also, that My Gay Uncle version of BTAU was a guilty pleasure of mine that I totally forgot about—thanks for reminding me!! I might have terrible taste in music.
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - I still have anxiety dreams of forgetting to write a big term paper and then when I wake up and realize it’s all a dream, it’s the best feeling
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - I’ve been waiting a long time to play this song in the game. I just love it. I used ChatGPT to put together the prompts for this league and I thought “Finally! Wolf Like Me is the perfect song for this round!” You beat me to it, but glad this band gets some attention. The Local H cover is good too.
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - I thought about using a Flaming Lips song too! They are a fun band to see live.
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - The name of this band is familiar, but I’ve never heard their music. They have an interesting sound and I’d like to hear more.
- Into the Void / Wishing Well - Good pick—definitely fits the “desperate plea” part of the prompt

I hesitated to pick them though because if people haven’t seen the movie, I’m afraid some of the magic of the song can’t be fully appreciated. A good soundtrack enhances and connects what you are seeing on the screen. I haven’t seen this movie, but the song sounds good, so I’ll have to check it out. “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence” by Ryuichi Sakamoto from the soundtrack of the movie with the same name is my favorite btw. Curious what everyone would think of it!
