I like this stripped down version. I think the vocals are more confident, less reliant on fancy technique and just letting the melody speak for itself.

I think this band was a one hit wonder, but this song about young love immediately came to mind for this challenge

It's either this or Eleanor Rigby, which is actually my fave Beatles song. But I think this fits the theme just a bit more.

My dad listened to the Made in Japan album a ton when I was a kid. Obviously Smoke On The Water and Highway Start are great jams, but this song always stuck with me. Especially the screams around the 3 and 8 minute marks used to scare the sh*t out of me as a kid... It's still chilling now. Only when I looked it up again just now I noticed the title and lyrics can fit this category as well.

First pick when I read the category description! And really... who doesn't love Guns n' Roses?

I think around '11 I did karaoke once with Mike and.. Fok? and I sang this song. He was like, I guess it's a cool song but nobody knows it. Unfamiliar, despite the fact that Pulp are one of the top 13 bands to come out of the 90s Brit-rock scene! Ever since that day, at karaoke I mostly stick to songs everybody knows. But now you all know this song, and if this group ever does KTV again, I'm making you all sing along to the chorus.

I read the song is about going back to the place where you grew up only to realize everything has changed. Personally, the song chorus really captures my simultaneous sense of disbelieve and acceptance that I’m middle aged now and responsible for a small child…😅
