| lainey3eb | 49 | 50 | -2 | 48 | 0.98 | - SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - I came across this song last year for the first time when we were doing Emma’s music league with food songs. Happy it appeared in a league.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Play Submission (Setting) - The point was either to this song or Billie Jean. But I really want to know what happened next…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - Don’t tell Sir Elton, but I’ve always liked this version better. And everyone wants a nice guy to root for.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - This song is amazing and I liked that it played after BLT on the playlist. This could work into an interesting tale…
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - I’m a sucker for Jack Johnson songs. Sometime The Scientist has to take a leap of faith and believe in something unquantifiable.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Drama, Actually... and Tease (Epilogue and Cliffhanger) - Love this song, but outta points
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Who was that again? - As a millennial who grew up on 90’s alternative rock, it pains me to see The Wallflowers called a one hit wonder!
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Smaller is Better - Our wedding singer! Although it took me a minute to remember
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite movie title song/theme song - Haha, I love this story
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Love this song pick! It reminds me of soundtracks by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (of Nine Inch Nails).
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - This sounded a bit like a Taylor Swift song, but I liked it
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - 1 pt for good song choice and 2 pts because #itsbritneybitch
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - I hate this cover so much too. Would have picked this one if I didn’t pick my song.
- Beginnings / Debut - I didn’t become a fan until Tragic Kingdom but I remember liking “Sinking” and “Sad For Me” from this album a lot.
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - Not the best version of California Dreamin’ but I understood the sentiment behind this pick.
- Beginnings / Original - To add another layer, listen to Seville by Luiz Bonfa.
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - I like bad girl Taylor! "I Did Something Bad" probably would have been my pick!
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - Love the Cardigans! Such a unique sound. I would have picked their cover of Black Sabbath’s Iron Man from this album, but I had already used it in another league. Worth checking out…very different interpretation!
- Into the Void / Spiral Architect - I recently re-listened to a bunch of my favorite Garbage songs because they are touring. I just love Shirley Manson’s voice, so emotive. Great pick for this round.
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - This song holds a special place in my heart because I could hit the “woo ooh ooh” part perfectly in Guitar Hero 5 (video game from 15 years ago!!??) and score 100% on the vocals. I sang while listening to this playlist and my cat ran out the room. Maybe a bit rusty.
- Into the Void / Wishing Well - Happened to rewatch this movie this past weekend. The pressures that Abuela put on Mirabel were pretty messed up.
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - Got to vote for No Doubt
- The Singularity / This is Fine - I could fall asleep to this
- Music Through the Decades / Time Traveler's Choice - The song “Giorgio by Moroder” by Daft Punk explains it all! He put the click on the 24 track and synced it to a Moog synthesizer and it was the sound of the future!
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - This is a good pick…we liked Better Place a lot too.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - When I changed one of my songs for this round, I got the alert that someone else also picked a song from this album. Normally I would have switched my pick to avoid a showdown, but honestly the songs are good. I watched the movie with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe the kids are alright.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I like this energy
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I see someone else understood the assignment!
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - I saw Robyn had a new album. Thanks for this pick!
- New beginnings / Instrumental - I like it when artists put out instrumental versions of their songs because it’s like a new spin on an old favorite. It looks like is an original instrumental song, but I would have liked it more with lyrics.

| Zach | 55 | 44 | -4 | 40 | 0.73 | - SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Words don't matter - I like risktaking picks, and this was one of the riskiest picks..
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Words don't matter - I don't think I ever listened to the first BoA album before. Nostalgic, but too many other good songs this round.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - 2000s was peak "just make the music as fast as possible and even people with no rhythm will be able to 'dance'"
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - When singing karaoke, choosing this is a quick/cheaty way to get easy approval... Music League is the same, I bet.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - My downvote was always going to be one of the 3 EDM songs, and this one is not danceable and honestly not that interesting other than the fact that deadmau5 apparently loves turning up the attack and decay settings on his keyboard.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - The main melody is actually pretty upvote-worthy. My main nitpick is that there are at least two times where he's setting up a big Skrillex-style dubstep drop and it never comes. He just fades out and cuts to the bleepy bloopy stuff. I have a pretty good subwoofer setup and the drop that did come was a little underwhelming. That's kind of a big drawback for a song like this.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Play Submission (Setting) - deserves points solely on the basis of being the most DRAMA song here, and I did always kind of like this song (though not among my favorite R&B songs)
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - I fell asleep during Moulin Rouge. I think the Baz thing I've most enjoyed was Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen (Commencement Song).
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - Keep the unusual songs coming! I'd love it if all european dance music was a bit more like this with meaningful lyrics, interesting bassline and Robyn-worthy melodies.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Bubble oh-noes
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bondage and Duty (the Queen's Tale) - I think this is maybe the most on-character song this round for a killer high-society lady.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bad Habit (the Nun's Tale) - Thoughtful pick for the prompt. Even if I'm not a fan of the style, I like how this song lets us see a rare glimpse of the real human behind her persona
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Who was that again? - My impulse to upvote this song is greater than my impulse to quibble over The Wallflowers' OHW status.
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Where was that again? - Geeky little kid me is happy. Flood is a great album.
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Smaller is Better - I like the meta-game of music league, and I respect the flair of someone who selected an artist with 1 listener/mo
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite original song from an animated movie - Interesting attempts at Disney alternatives in the 90s ..
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Neat crescendo, but barely qualifies as a song IMO
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song from a non-animated movie musical - It doesn't count, but agree. Voting inconsistently with no regard to the round prompt is also part of music league!
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song sung by a character in a non animated movie - Downvote me Obi-Wan, _your song_ is my only 'nope'
- Change of Pace / Old Enough! はじめてのおつかい - I was skeptical but I can see your angle here. You get my one line-stepping vote out of all the people who are habitual line-steppers
- Change of Pace / Not Horny Enough - Wow, haven't heard this song in forever. Nice lyrical fit too.
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - I gave this one all my Gaga upvotes because 1) I like that someone listened to the whole album (who does that nowadays?) and picked a lesser-known song and 2) everything about this song is a pastiche of Taylor Swift/Max Martin songs (Red, 1989) and I can't decide if it's a homage or what, but I really dig it.
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - !
- Hey DJ! / Guilty Pleasures - Nice pick! Better song than "show me the meaning of being horny".
- Beginnings / Debut - I feel like they hadn't quite found their groove yet but I like your thinking.
- Beginnings / Beginnings - natalie portman! at the emo
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - chef's salad
- Beginnings / Original - I like anxiety a lot (I didn't go places where it got overplayed) but somebody I used to know was always too whiny for me. Is that weird that I don't like the original? Maybe, but they have way different vibes imo and doechii has a more interesting melody & rhythm to me.
- Beginnings / If At First You Don't Succeed - I like Just A Girl a little more as their breakout song. Also did not at all care for their debut 😅 or their late-stage albums 😅 or Gwen's solo career 😂 so I'm biased
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - Guilty pleasure album for sure.
- Into the Void / Spiral Architect - My favorite of the deep cuts
- Into the Void / Wishing Well - I like how this song doesn't repeat much. I feel like it just keeps changing. Much love for Encanto.
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - There's a scene in Community where Britta says "Pizza pizza! Go in tummy me so hungee me so hungee". She looks a little bit like Gwen too.
- The Singularity / Man vs Machine - At one point this was my favorite song ever. I also had the mp3 from where Dave planned originally to play a song called For All the Cows but Howard Stern forced him to play Everlong on acoustic for the first time...
- The Singularity / John Henry - Feeling more in the mood for optimistic sounds
- The Singularity / John Henry - This is a fun one. I remember thinking it would probably take a month or two of dedicated practice just to copy that one section... Coming up with it though, I can't begin to imagine it.
- Music Through the Decades / Time Traveler's Choice - I respect the future-predicting pick, it's so much harder than going the other way, but the downside of sounding like Ray of Light or Believe is that I find listening to any of these songs to be a quite unpleasant soulless experience
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - I always thought this was an Elvis song or some kind of cover, so yeah, excellent pick
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - My problem with this Beyonce album is it feels like she's just doing it as a gimmick. Why choose Jolene to cover? That's too basic, if you really wanted to pay homage you shouldn't do the one song everybody already knows.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - I guess this song passed me by in 2004... Eamon also makes me think of Lord of the Rings character names...
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - is... this a NIN diss track? I just ... what?!? Um, I guess I'm on Trent Reznor's side and I'm not even a big fan of him.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - This is a repeat for our league but I guess I just like it better than the classic children's movie songs
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - Sometimes it's not about a songs chords or the quality of their voice. Sometimes a song just fuckin slaps. Good pick among green days songs.
- New beginnings / This isn't me - I have played with a lot of you before so that y'all know that I actually do like some country, but generally not the kind in this playlist. This was fun though.

| Yorick | 49 | 38 | -1 | 37 | 0.76 | - SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Words don't matter - Sounds very much like Utada Hikaru's Distance album. I looked it up... That one came out 1 year earlier, so who inspired who? It was probably just that time period.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - Finally we're hitting a different genre! Depends on the party, but this works.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - Oof, blast from the past! Nice.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - A pleasure to listen to. My parents probably had this on in the car at some point.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - Never liked this song... The beat and cadence... The lyrics... The -1 needed to go somewhere anyway.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - Not too familiar with Deadmau5 repertoire, sounds like pretty standard dance music.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - Testing my previous Aviici statement? Well, I stand by it!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - Oh, Röyksopp... The name was so familiar! Even tho this song is just OK, you get points for throwing me back to the Eple days. Nostalgia!
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Eh, also not time travely enough
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bondage and Duty (the Queen's Tale) - Eh... I got nothing. Neither did the person submitting this apparantly heh
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bad Habit (the Nun's Tale) - Beyoncé is really not my thing...
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Very cool track!
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song used in a romantic moment in a movie - The movie was OK, but this soundtrack is pretty sweet. And we even got two songs. More Obi Wan!
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song sung by a character in a non animated movie - Begrudgingly given a point... But try harder next time haha
- Change of Pace / Old Enough! はじめてのおつかい - Interesting pick. Big change in hairstyle too!
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - Courageous choice!
- Hey DJ! / Tongue Twists - This one didn't read NL. It's too German haha
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - Very on theme!
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - Well done for not straight up picking Anit-Hero!
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - Maybe I'm giving points because I'm currently in Sweden... But nah, this song is just great.
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - Nice tunes!
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - Gwen Stefani in No Doubt was great.
- The Singularity / Man vs Machine - I appreciate this version, but still prefer the original.
- The Singularity / Embiggened Language Model - While I have heard this before and probably thought it was so edgy cool back then... Now? I think this was the last time I heard this song. So uncomfortable.
- The Singularity / Embiggened Language Model - This song cannot fit Every category, now can it?
- The Singularity / John Henry - I saw this live and knew it was coming. Chester did not disappoint. What a legend!
- The Singularity / John Henry - The speed, but especially the contents of his lyrics make this so good. Eminem keeping it real.
- The Singularity / This is Fine - Top notch music and lyrics. I just never liked Ozzy's voice much...
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Storytime! - After all the memes and gags I finally took the time to properly listen to this one. Lyrics drip of remembrence and nostalgia which is kinda nice. Hard to get past how overplayed this song is tho :(
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Storytime! - Not quite a story. Fine lyrics about the nature of photographs, though. There might be a story buried underneath but it's up to everyones personal interpretation.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - Saw this one coming a mile away. True to the prompt... so I guess it's worth a point.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - I guess the guy really needed to get it off his chest. Terrible song and flattest beat I've heard in a while though...
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - Excellent choice. "Ain't it a shame that you can't say fuck" I love the meta!
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - Ah yes... This generations "Let it go"? Or is it the other one? Nah, definitely Golden!
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - I can definitely see kids dancing and bouncing around on this one!
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - Not quite my thing.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - Not their best song, but Green Day is still alright in my book!
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - Nothing wrong with this, but too poppy for me.
- New beginnings / Instrumental - I prefer Joe Hahns earlier tracks as Linkin Park instrumentals, but this was pretty cool still.

- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Party picks - I like it for the sax sampling... *guilty*
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - I like the opening, wasn't gonna give it a point, but I like it enough.
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / Childhood nostalgia - Another of my fave songs. Glee (the show) didn't ruin it. More like made me like this song more!
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - It's good, but I only hear Happiness by Alexis Jordan, haha. So I looked it up, and since this song came first, I give it a point and you have AJ to thank. :)
- SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition / No vocals needed - I like avicii... But apparently not this.... I feel like I'm about to play Street Fighter or something. When I first heard it I didn't like it, but it grew on me.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Play Submission (Setting) - I actually don't care for this song but usher is hilarious for the theme, so it gets a point for that.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Throbbing Attraction (Character) - I love this song. I'd prefer the original tho.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Grasping and Heaving (Story Goals) - The song's vibe I feel fits the theme I have imagined of the story.
- Lady Chatterwhistle's Gossip-Drama League / Bedroom Experiment (The Scientist's Tale) - Cute song.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Storytime! - I didn't find the story here either. Just some guy looking at photographs and remembering things here and there.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Storytime! - Yeah, photographs are great, but where's the story?
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - Noooooooooooooooo.......
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - Wuuut, I thought this was an Elvis song! Wow, I think this is a great submission for this theme!
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - This is really terrible ....
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - Sorry, they're not my kind of music at all. 0 points given by me for your 46 fucks.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - It's so darn catchy. But I'm a washed out mainstreamer, so my point goes to Golden....Ha!
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - I always thought this was a standalone song, not connected to a movie. Whatever, it's still a great song to me.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - I'm a sucker for mainstream crap.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - Ahhh, Green Day is a pretty versatile band, don't you think?
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - Enjoyable, except near the end ...
- New beginnings / Instrumental - I like it, but not enough to give it a point.

- New beginnings / This isn't me - The storytelling in this is amazing. Not a big country fan either, but the whole "momma whoring out her daughter" makes for great drama.
- New beginnings / Instrumental - This is what would be playing underneath a John Wick fight scene or something. No points from me, but a plus for it being completely different than anything I would have expected on this list.

| ShemsYe | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1 | |
| rhynus | 10 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | - Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Storytime! - Great production, a good hook with a unique vocal timbre. But the song as a whole or the story doesn't strike a chord with me. Probably doesn't help that It's been played zillions of times on the radio.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Storytime! - Great production that develops the songs soundscape. But besides that, extremely conventional and cliché in all aspects. Not for me. Also, didn't find a real story
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - I really appreciate the effort here in blending genres while still being a Beyoncé song. Yes, it's still a pop song with straightforward progression and harmonics, it mainly borrows the instruments and sound, and not so much the structure. But still, it's creative, and I always enjoy seeing people try something new. What I really missed is her vocals. She has an amazing voice, but hardly used it in this song...
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Out of the ordinary - Fun to listen to for a bit, and they're definitely able to recreate this rockabilly feel. But they did a pretty much 1:1 rendition of the original song with very little innovation in arrangement, performance, harmonic, whatever. So yeah, it's ok
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - I didn't see the explicit label really add anything to the song. There were a lot of fucks, a couple of bitches, but very little emotional range. The music didn't do anything for me. Nothing wrong with it, but everything was just ok.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Excellently Explicit - too tight, too formulaic, too conventional, couldn't give a fuck ;) Vocals are enjoyable, but not enough to save the song for me.
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - I did have the option to stop the feeling. But I persisted and listened to the whole track! Nothing wrong with it, but not my jam
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Kids songs - Fun song, but cult of the new
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - Sounds like a meme song
- Fun with Friends Near and Far! / Short and Sweet (or not) - lot of punk (ish) songs in this round
