  • A-Six - Original Long VersionLinkin Park - Instrumental - #8 - 4 points - Not what I would call a typical instrumental, but there are no words here - just vibe. This song sounds like what the early 2000s felt like, and is a great representation of Linkin Park's influence on our culture.
  • FancyReba McEntire - This isn't me - #6 - 9 points - I don't hate any particular genre of music, but I'll say that country is generally not my cup of tea. Maybe Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly, but not "real" country. But while this song actually feels like real country (in tone, content, and tenor), I absolutely love it.
  • Really RealRobyn - Rediscovered - #5 - 9 points

Hey DJ!

  • (I Can't Get No) SatisfactionBritney Spears - Cover Me Badly - #2 - 17 points - I always hated this cover. Love me some Britney, but I don’t think she understood the Stones version at all when she sang their words.
  • Fuck YouCeeLo Green - $@#?! - #10 - 3 points
  • Sadie Hawkins DanceRelient K - The Big Ask - #6 - 6 points - Okay, okay, we all know that Sadies is the reverse of prom in so many ways. But this song really spoke to me for this prompt nonetheless.
  • KimnotyzeDJ Tomekk, Lil' Kim, Trooper Da Don - Tongue Twists - #11 - 3 points - When I did an exchange program to Germany in high school, this song was massive at the clubs. Still don't understand how Lil Kim rapping in German over a Notorious BIG track didn't land in the US.
  • I Need You TonightBackstreet Boys - Guilty Pleasures - #9 - 3 points

  • New beginnings / Rediscovered - Listening to this just made me want to listen to Dare You to Move again, rewatch A Walk to Remember, and forget that it's not 2002 anymore.
  • New beginnings / This isn't me - ... with the exception of King's day :) and, for what it's worth, plenty of Americans are very much NOT into that "put a boot in your ass" patriotism that somehow misses the entire point of our Constitution and our foundations as a secular nation of immigrants

  • New beginnings / Rediscovered - I will never not vote for music like this. Takes me right back to my all-night coding binges in High School. I was the master of CSS, JSS, HTML, and a bit of DBMS.

  • New beginnings / Rediscovered - Another "are they still here?" artist. Okay.
  • New beginnings / This isn't me - The storytelling in this is amazing. Not a big country fan either, but the whole "momma whoring out her daughter" makes for great drama.
  • New beginnings / Instrumental - This is what would be playing underneath a John Wick fight scene or something. No points from me, but a plus for it being completely different than anything I would have expected on this list.

  • New beginnings / Rediscovered - I saw Robyn had a new album. Thanks for this pick!
  • New beginnings / Instrumental - I like it when artists put out instrumental versions of their songs because it’s like a new spin on an old favorite. It looks like is an original instrumental song, but I would have liked it more with lyrics.

  • New beginnings / This isn't me - I have played with a lot of you before so that y'all know that I actually do like some country, but generally not the kind in this playlist. This was fun though.
