| Zach | 30 | 27 | -2 | 25 | 0.83 | - 2024, we hardly knew you / Best of 2024 - A purely arbitrary point in solidarity for the other person who chose an artist re-releasing their biggest hit, decades later, slightly tweaked (the Episode 7 formula)
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Who was that again? - Beat It is my go-to karaoke party starter, but among people of a certain demographic, Flagpole Sitta (and Semi-Charmed Life) is a surefire way to get people in the mood to queue up their own songs.
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Smaller is Better - Great song, nice reminder of that time everybody wanted to be the Strokes
- 2024, we hardly knew you / Welcome 2025 - my favorite song of those that are literally about the new year
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite movie title song/theme song - Luke is a badass space wizard, but his defining character trait is that he embodies hope (for Anakin, for himself and the whole galaxy). So I feel this dramatic noble opera theme suits the original trilogy sneakily well.
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite original song from an animated movie - I love LMM songs (that's why I chose one!). I was going to go with Shiny, but not sure how much this crowd would like a Crab God doing a Bowie impersonation...
- Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - you can always count on me for a nerd vote, and to give a point for a good comment... I think Endgame might be one of those movies that actually gets more appreciated with age.
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song from a non-animated movie musical - As a Baz Luhrmann hater, I think my favorite thing about this movie is that Obi Wan is in it.
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song used in a romantic moment in a movie - Ben Affleck doing an animal cracker documentary is so stupid and works so well. Describes everything about this song and movie, actually...
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite background score to a dramatic moment - In addition to being a Baz hater, I'm also a Matt Damon hater
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song sung by a character in a non animated movie - That fruit juice dripping down Denethor's chin still grosses me out...
- Change of Pace / Good Riddance but also I Need You Back - Such a great song. I was *this* close to submitting the Camilla the Chicken (Muppets) cover last league.
- Change of Pace / Old Enough! はじめてのおつかい - Apologies for the downvote, but this might be my least favorite Timberlake or Timbaland hit.
- Change of Pace / Horn-y - This song should probably be like 7 minutes shorter but I did listen to this soundtrack a lot back in the day
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - These guys could have been one-hit wonders like so many other pop punk bands, but they just kept getting bigger. I think that's pretty neat.
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - I said I wouldn't give any more automatic Lin-Manuel points. BUT! This is me arbitrarily choosing to give LMM points. Though, the speed is pretty constant throughout, so that all the different singing parts can be played simultaneously in the end.
- Hey DJ! / Guilty Pleasures - At first I was a bit annoyed that someone ignored the system warning and doubled up on picking Gwen, but there's not actually much overlap between the two songs, so I guess it worked out.
- Hey DJ! / Tongue Twists - I saw the band name and was expecting some Stomp Clap Hey, so it was a pleasant surprise. Neat Wikipedia article about how this song got made.
- Hey DJ! / $@#?! - good song but angrily screaming 'fuck you i won't do what you tell me' over and over is not fitting for this round. Not the only song on this list that does it, but I think it's the most egregious...
- Hey DJ! / Cover Me Badly - I am NEVER going to listen to the original, so MCR's is the only version for me. I admit this makes me a bad guy. But I am a bad guy who won't have to listen to Dylan murder a microphone with vague poetry for an unreasonably long period of time. I'm not the only one thinking this, I'm just the only one being honest.
To be clear, I'm not THAT opposed to him or his music in general, but I gave up while reading the lyrics on this one, oof.
- Beginnings / Debut - This album was my wakeup alarm when I lived in LA in the late 00s. I left on my commute before 5 AM so I've probably listened to this song at 4:30AM more than anyone else.
- Beginnings / If At First You Don't Succeed - Great pick, hadn't heard this!
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - I like this pick but I committed to giving Coheed 3 points
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - This song sold me when the flow degenerated into 'something sumpin sumpin uh I don't know'.
- Music Through the Decades / The 2020s: Soundtrack to the End (or Beginning) - Can we get the Old English, 1066 version of this?
- Music Through the Decades / Time Traveler's Choice - I never could get into these guys, maybe because of this retroness. Though this song in particular feels to me like 2000s Creed 😅
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - Exactly how you would hope a pop-punk band would evolve their sound for the 2020s...
- New beginnings / This isn't me - Country music has an authenticity problem. the backing band is catchy though

| Yorick | 19 | 19 | 0 | 19 | 1 | - Movie Music Magic / Thriller - a song from a movie that gives you the chills - Man, I wish I could go back to that moment. Cap picking up the hammer for the first time and then staring down a full army on his own. A+ theater experience!
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song used in a romantic moment in a movie - Even though Tyler is a bit of a weirdo, those vocals are something else! I love Aerosmith.
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite background score to a dramatic moment - A well thought out choice.
- Movie Music Magic / Favorite song sung by a character in a non animated movie - Fantastic
- Change of Pace / Good Riddance but also I Need You Back - When this was still played on the radio I heard it in the US as "Forget you" and was so confused! Good thing Dutch radio doesn't have such silly taboes hah!
- Change of Pace / Horn-y - Tarantino has a gift for finding the perfect music for his movies.
- Hey DJ! / Tongue Twists - Interesting mix of artists, but not my thing.
- Hey DJ! / The Big Ask - Nice.
- Hey DJ! / $@#?! - I wanted to submit this one... so I guess I'll give it one point.
- Into the Void / N.I.B. - Man, blast from the past right here!
- Into the Void / Spiral Architect - This one was so dissapointing. Good music and all, but it felt like it was building up to something and it just never happened! They even kept saying "come on" at the end but absolutely nothing happened. Great song for the start of an album, but on its own it unfolded into a blank paper.
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - Alright. Who's baiting me? Arguably there are more heroic songs by Dragonforce, but I'll take it.
- Into the Void / Sweet Leaf - Blast from the past
- New beginnings / Rediscovered - I dig it. Old school vibe but it just radiates the joy they must've had collaborating on this track!
- New beginnings / This isn't me - Our last US roadtrip had long stretches of only country music on the radio. It was fitting for the setting, but I feel bad for the people who get this spoonfed all their lives and litterly nothing else.
- New beginnings / Instrumental - Beautifully paired with Metallica in this list, but sung by Edda Dell'Orso. The laughter in Wipe Out was forgivable, but these vocals here are pretty much primary to the song. Disqualified!

- Change of Pace / Horn-y - Bold pick
- Change of Pace / Not Horny Enough - Classic Heart
- Change of Pace / Better-than-Okay Boomer - I snuck into their concert at a field in Hawaii in 2000, then saw them at Coachella 23 years later. Thankfully their adolescent humor was still intact with plenty of dick jokes 😆
- Change of Pace / Stop, Wait a Minute - Yeah, this was definitely the most difficult round. I adored Encanto and this song, but I don't *think* it fits the tempo change from the prompt
- Hey DJ! / Guilty Pleasures - I forgot how silly some of these lyrics were. Still catchy, though
- Hey DJ! / Tongue Twists - Interesting, I never realized U2 used a pseudonym for this
- Beginnings / Debut - Still one of their best songs
- Beginnings / Beginnings - Not a bad song, just felt that it didn't fit the theme
- Beginnings / Summer Starts - What an epic song. The second "movement" was a pleasant surprise
- Beginnings / Original - Classic. I'm just focusing upvotes on sampled songs that are less familiar to me
- Beginnings / If At First You Don't Succeed - The "crimson and clover" part triggered all the college nostalgia feels
- Into the Void / Fairies Wear Boots - From the WhatsApp chat, sounds like this is in first place. Well, here's another point because the song deserves it
- Into the Void / Neon Knights - Fond memories of Guitar Hero
- Music Through the Decades / The 2000s: Guilty Pleasure or Secret Genius? - Fits the theme, but I never quite got into this song. I'm glad I finally got to see them when they came to Singapore in 2019 though
- Music Through the Decades / The 2010s: Internet Aesthetics - I am not a Taylor Swift fan, but somehow I always give her songs a vote
- Music Through the Decades / The 2020s: Soundtrack to the End (or Beginning) - My favorite of the covers on this playlist. It's an interesting take on the song, but I didn't have enough points to give an upvote
- Music Through the Decades / Time Traveler's Choice - Nice one. I didn't think about supergroups for this round
- Music Through the Decades / The Lost Decade - does gen z not capitalize song titles?
- New beginnings / Instrumental - I wanted to give +2, but there is a lovely, operatic, wordless vocal that runs throughout the song

| Es | 3 | 4 | 0 | 4 | 1.33 | - New beginnings / Rediscovered - Started off great, a little iffy in the middle. But I approve. 😉
- New beginnings / This isn't me - I love these lyrics. The melody isn't very interesting, a little boring even, but I really connect to what they're singing.
- New beginnings / Instrumental - YES SOMEONE DID ENNIO MORRICONE! You absolute star! One of the best film composers. Not my favorite, personally (that would be Hans Zimmer, to no one's surprise), but a legend nonetheless. His compositions are even taught in universities.
