SacramentoJam Vol 7 - Honorary Sacramentan Edition

  • Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song) - Radio EditSafri Duo - No vocals needed - #2 - 7 points - I love percussions and this duo makes really cool music with their drums!
  • ContradanzaMike Batt, Vanessa-Mae - No vocals needed - #3 - 6 points - I hope this number is not too ear piercing for you guys. I love the combination of the solo violin and the upbeat music.
  • Are You Lonesome Tonight?Elvis Presley - Childhood nostalgia - #7 - 2 points - My mum's fave ❤️
  • How Deep Is Your LoveBee Gees - Childhood nostalgia - #8 - 1 points - I always think of my dad whenever I listen to Bee Gees.
  • Hound DogElvis Presley - Party picks - #11 - 0 points - My mum is a big fan of Elvis. She'd put up some Elvis music in her spare time and I listened along!
  • Stayin' AliveBee Gees - Party picks - #7 - 4 points - I grew up listening to Bee Gees, which my dad was fond of. I love their music and they became my favourite before I knew it.
  • Ça Plane Pour MoiPlastic Bertrand - Words don't matter - #5 - 3 points - Despite not understanding what it's about, I love this cheerful and energy-boosting song! I have a feeling that the lyrics are just random 😂
  • True LoveFumiya Fujii - Words don't matter - #6 - 2 points - This is the soundtrack of the first Japanese drama series I watched. It's such a beautiful, sweet and relaxing song. I've never tried to translate the lyrics. I hope they're as nice as the song sounds.

  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - New song to me, and it's in a genre that this league generally doesn't submit often. Nice.
  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / I have a dream! - Sorry, but out of all the classic slow songs to put over a double-time Eurobeat drum track, this has got to be one of the most puzzling I've ever heard. I mean, the actual musicians are good and the violins are really nice. It's just - I never understood under what context you're supposed to listen to this kind of thing. Is it a dance song? A chill ballad? I suspect the producer doesn't know either!
  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / It takes two - I haven't seen this movie, but I'm familiar with the plot of the old movies. The simple yet meaningful lyrics are among this round's best (tho I'm still biased in favor of Duet's theme of patience and forgiveness) Maybe bc I don't know the characters, and because this is a bit of a too-easy pick, it's hard to give this a full score. Also, the (sha-sha-shallow) part is really lazy and it bothers me that they're in the shallows and far from the shallows.
  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / It takes two - Never saw Grease, but I guess it's like Happy Days? I decided to give one point to Grease, and I like this one slightly better than Summer Nights. I just watched the YouTube clip and that was a lot of fun.
  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - I like this song, but it's less on-topic/deep lyrics compared to the other songs here and there's just too many other good, unique songs this round.
  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Hungry for more - Favorite to least favorite: 1. Matt Nathanson 2. Jason Mraz 3. John Mayer 4. ? ... ... 9. ? 10. Jack Johnson I don't know why, it just is.
  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Happy Birthday! - Somehow sounds better in full compared to the clips that normally get played...
  • SacramentoJam Disk 3 - Hamster Edition / Happy Birthday! - This song must have come out around the same time as the Back to the Future trilogy, so this "Earth Angel" remix feels like it should be followed up with a "Johnny B. Goode" cover. I'd say this kind of remix could only have happened in the 90s, but we are getting a lot of similar pop remixes in the 2020s....
