  • Hearts on FireThe Family Crest - I Want to Love You - #4 - 8 points - Unrequited love! From one of my favorite indie bands from SF!
  • Undisclosed DesiresMuse - I Want to Love You - #4 - 8 points - Such Muse. Gunning for promiscuous lover - what could go wrong?
  • Take It Easy - 2013 RemasterEagles - Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - #2 - 8 points - Relaxing to the tunes of The Eagles. Take it easy.
  • Lazy LiesCapital Cities - Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - #7 - 1 points - Nothing like procrastination. Capital Cities throws in a mix of talking about relationship stuff, but it pushes the idea of inaction and waiting till later to handle problems that shouldn’t wait.
  • Everything NowArcade Fire - I Want It All - #6 - 4 points - Classic Arcade Fire - is it hypocritical that they've become one the largest, wealthiest "indie" bands? "Everything Now" hits the nail on the head for the overarching concept of greed and material gain. A reflection of the critical error of thought that permeates our modern times...
  • No ShelterRage Against The Machine - I Want It All - #3 - 7 points - Media consumption, consumerism, and by extension, the concept of greed! A bit beyond the scope of personal greed - more RATM commentary. I thought it was interesting that this studio-produced song was released ONLY on the Godzilla Original Motion Picture soundtrack - more RATM artistic expression.
  • The ManThe Killers - You're So Vain - #7 - 3 points - Uhhhh - listen to the lyrics?
  • Like A BossThe Lonely Island - You're So Vain - #6 - 4 points - Self explanatory

  • Sacramen-toeJam / I Want It All - Feel like this song has the opposite message of greed and want for status. “We’re fine with this.” “We don't care We aren't caught up in your love affair.” All seems to be pointing to a rejection of greed and status.
  • Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - Haven't heard her in such a long time. Classic song. Two from me.
  • Sacramen-toeJam / I Want to Love You - Love this but couldn't give it points. Davey G discussed this song in an interview and discussed how the song is about connecting with someone and harmonizing with someone you love.

  • Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - I prefer Hiphop-apotamus vs Rhymenocerous as a parody brag song
  • Sacramen-toeJam / You're So Vain - Points for the drop at 3:16 and for letting me know the Killers are still making music
  • Sacramen-toeJam / I Want It All - Strange that the only place I can find this song on Spotify is on the Godzilla soundtrack. That must be an intentional statement about selling out, right? Looking forward to the comments on this. I didn't like Rage when I was young, but liking them a lot more as I get older. Seems backwards.
  • Sacramen-toeJam / I Want It All - Still a bit too hipster for my liking - I think I heard panpipes??. I can smell the IPA and see the goatees and thick black glasses from a continent away... Still, this should do better than Arcade Fire did last game!
  • Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - (8/10 lazy) Dear Lion in a Hammock: * your lies are lazy * you don't wanna change * you treat me like a magazine This song didn't sound good to me, particularly the melody.
  • Sacramen-toeJam / Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay - (8/10) Ways to run away from 7 women and your own sex addiction: * loosen load * climb in to new woman's Ford * look for lover who won't blow cover Fun song, and now I know more about Winslow, Arizona.
  • Sacramen-toeJam / I Want to Love You - New to me. Yorick? I don't think it fits with my interpretation of the theme much, but it's a pretty cool song.
  • Sacramen-toeJam / I Want to Love You - This one's gotta be Elaine, right? I think the theme was intended to be about capital-L Lust, so even though I like some other songs more I'm giving this one full points for music, theme, uniqueness/novelty, and the Leonard Cohen-like introspective helplessness.
